About Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is an epic RPG where you play Kain, a brash nobleman who is murdered and reincarnated as a vampire. As a vampire, Kain must suck blood, use weapons and spells, and solve puzzles in a quest to save his ailing world of Nosgoth. In this special preview edition, the player gets a chance to experience Kain's world and peek into the complex story that is still to come. . .

Playing this Preview Version
============================
Make sure that DirectX version 3.0 is installed on your system before playing Kain. DirectX 3.0 is available on the CD in the \DIRECTX
Directory.
To run the demo, double-click on KAINDEMO.EXE.
To play this preview version use the following key commands:
Arrow Up = Move Right Up/Navigate Quick Menus
Arrow Down = Move Kain Down/Navigate Quick Menus
Arrow Left = Move Kain Left/Navigate Quick Menus
Arrow Right = Move Kain Right/Navigate Quick Menus
CTRL = Attack
ALT = Action/Suck Blood
Space = Use prepared spell
F1 = Weapons, Spell and Armour Inventory
F2 = Change Forms (Full Version of Kain only)
F3 = Spell Quick Menu
F4 = Objects Quick Menu
F5 = Camera Zoom In/ZoomOut
F6 = Eagle Eye Map
F7 = Options Screen
F11 = Cycle through the gamma settings (brightness)
F12 = Switch Resolution modes (as available)

To attack enemies in Kain, use the CTRL key to attack with his sword. When the enemies begin to waver, Kain can suck their blood with the ALT key.
To use a spell in Kain, open the spell Quickmenu by hitting F3. Next, use the arrow keys to highlight a spell and then hit ENTER to select it. To cast the prepared spell, use the SPACE key.
To quit Kain, press ESC and choose "NO" when asked if you want to restart the game. Then choose "YES" when asked if you want to Exit the game.

Notes About the Preview Version of Kain
=======================================
To toggle through the available modes on your video monitor, hit the F12 key.
Because Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for Windows 95 is still under development, this preview version may not work properly on the Matrox Millenium graphics adapter. This deficiency will be corrected in the release version of Kain.
If you experience problems running Legacy of Kain, try turning off the ENABLE 3D ACCELERATION option in the DirectX setup program. To disable 3D Acceleration, double click on the DXSETUP icon located in the \DirectX\ directory, and then uncheck the option for 3D acceleration in the middle of the DX Setup window.
For faster performance, copy the entire \Kain directory to your hard
drive and then double-click on KAINDEMO.EXE to run.

Non Functional Items in this Demo
=================================
Multiple resolutions are not enabled. Kain will only play at 320x240x16
bit color in this version of the game. The full version of Kain will also support 640x480 resolution.
Kain cannot change to any other form in this demo. Why? Because Kain has not yet discovered any tokens to allow him to change his form when this preview version ends. The full version of Kain will support four additional forms for Kain: Disguised Nobleman, Wolf, Bat and Mist.
Loading and saving games is not enabled in this preview version. The full version of games will support mutliple saved games.
The Preview button does not function in this demo. A very special sneak preview of another Activision title will be included with the full version of Kain.
The Dark Diary is not functional in this preview version of the game. In the full version of Kain, the dark diary provides a cinematic history of Kain's encounters.
